Aldershot Ski Race Club
Aldershot Ski Race Club is focussed on artificial alpine ski racing in the UK for young people typically between the ages of 8 and 18. Club members compete at all levels of ski racing, from starting out in stubby racing all the way up to representing the GB squads.
Racers range in ability and experience but, encouraged by our dedicated team of coaches, work to reach their full potential through regular attendance at both training and race events.
During the summer season members compete in regional, national and international events. In the winter the coaches focus on the technical side of skiing with the athletes. Many members augment this with additional snow training with one of the many good ski race academies.
We offer all members two training sessions a week at the Aldershot dry ski slope on a Wednesday and Sunday. We know that it is not possible for many of our members to make every session. However, the biggest contributor to development in ski racing is the amount of time an athlete spends on their skis. Our best racers are always those that dedicate the most time to the sport.
As a club, we're affiliated to Snowsport England. Our coaches are very experienced and we are very lucky to have such a high quality dedicated coaching team. The club however, relies on the contribution of parents without whom the club would not operate. Parents take an active role in the organisation and management of the events and competitions. All parents are expected to help where they can.
We welcome new skiers to the club and so if you're interested in joining us or just want to have a look round, please get in touch.
